Airport to Negombo
Your chauffeur-guide meets you in the arrivals hall at Bandaranaike International, and the run up to Negombo takes about twenty minutes — short enough that you are settled before the flight has worn off. Jetwing Blue sits directly on the beach, and the rest of the day is yours for the pool, the spa or a walk along the sand. Negombo itself repays an hour of curiosity: the remains of a 17th-century Dutch fort, the Hamilton Canal running south towards Colombo, the lagoon full of outrigger boats, and St Mary's Church with its painted ceilings.

Welcome to Sri Lanka and You will relax at Jetwing Blue Negombo

Colombo City
Negombo to Kandy
After breakfast you turn inland. The first stop is the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, timed for the feeding and the river bathing, when the herd walks down to the Maha Oya and spends an hour in the shallows. From there the road climbs through coconut and rubber country into the central hills to Kandy — seat of the Kandyan Kingdom from the 15th to the 19th century, the one part of the island that held out against European powers, and still the guardian of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Earls Regency stands above the Mahaweli valley just outside town, and the afternoon takes in a Kandyan cultural show before dinner at the hotel.

Kandy to Ella
A long and spectacular day across the central highlands. You stop first at Ramboda Falls, then at a working tea factory to follow the leaf through withering, rolling, oxidation and grading, with Ambuluwawa Tower an option for the panorama. Nuwara Eliya comes next — “Little England” at 1,868m, cool enough for a jacket, with Gregory Lake and the red-brick post office worth the pause. The descent into Ella is one of the finest drives on the island: tea gardens on every slope, deep valleys, and cloud moving through the gap. EKHO Ella looks straight out over it, and the evening is free.

Nine Arch Bridge - Ella
Ella to Yala
Ella in the morning: Ravana Falls beside the road, the Nine Arch Bridge standing in its forested valley, and the easy walk up Little Adam's Peak for the view across Ella Gap. Lunch is at a café in town, with time afterwards for the boutiques, or the zip line at Flying Ravana if you want it. Then the road drops out of the hills through Wellawaya into the dry southeast, and the landscape changes completely within an hour. Jetwing Yala sits on the dunes at Palatupana with the park boundary on one side and the sea on the other.

Sri Lankan Leopard
Yala – Departure
An early start for the jeep safari. The first hours after dawn are when Yala is most active, and the park carries one of the highest leopard densities recorded anywhere, alongside elephant, sloth bear and a long list of birds. Breakfast is back at the hotel afterwards, followed by an unhurried check-out and the drive west along the southern coast to the airport for your flight home. Travel times through the day can shift with traffic, road conditions and stops for lunch or tea.

Ella is a destination. Haputale is a gateway.
